Showcase Olympus 75-300 f/4.8-6.7 II

Headed back to the local pond to chase down some wood ducks I saw a few days earlier. They sure don't want to be photographed. Every time I tried to sneak up on them, they would paddle away. The mallard took off just as I was ready to take the picture, and the snapping turtle is a big one.

I know the copy I have of this lens is a good one, I'm just not driving it that well. I took this shot with it on my lap and using my thumb to press the shutter, the robin is wild and not a garden regular and it's very jittery around humans, which is unusual. I think manual focus may be the way to go, not sure I hit the spot I was aiming at.

Just got this lens.

My "thing" is landscapes, and not birds and wildlife like many of you, but so far I'm happy with what this lens seems capable of.

This image is from the first landscape outing I did with the 75-300 in my bag, and I quite like it
