Old news, it was announced over a year ago.
If you have the 12-40mm, no point in the 7-14mm IMO, just get the 8mm.
7mm is a world of difference from 12mm, so I'm not sure I agree with this. The 8mm is a fisheye, so I doubt it'll tempt me from the Samyang 7.5. The 7-14 will of course be a competitor to the Panasonic and if it does better in the corners I can see it doing well (price notwithstanding!).
I agree about "old news", in a way (the lenses aren't out yet, so there will be new news some time in the future ... oh, well), but when it comes to desirability, in all honesty, I don't know ... As attractive as ultra-wide pictures may be sometimes, I'd rather have the 28mm equivalent around in order for the ultra-wide angle zoom to be suitable for general purpose use in a pinch. And if the 12-40mm is anything to go by, I'd probably buy the 7-14mm because it'll more or less equal the prime in terms of performance. But the 8mm is one attractive lens alright ...
