My lens has stopped working.
Turn on cam, buzzing noise emanates, focus tries to move momentarily, then nothing.
Message on lcd panel... check status of a lens.
Tried my other lenses, all working fine.
Any ideas?

Yes, there is service contact details inside the box.
Not very confidence inspiring I tell you. Going one minute, next minute, nothing...
Luckily I got the 45 Panasonic to carry on with. Which makes better photos anyway!

Is it the same for all positions of the lens switch? Imagine that lens with its focus indicator is quite complicated inside.
Haven't had to get any Olympus kit repaired here as yet, but understand A & E Electronic in Christchurch are the service agent.

Yes, in Chch.
Yeah nah, I’ve tried everything. Something jammed or come adrift in there. No communication with the camera, blank screen.
Even tried a different camera.

Update.
I was intending to put this lens in landfill, but you know, curiosity got the better of me, and for $85NZ, plus $25 postage, I could get the above mentioned, to see what’s wrong with it and a repair done. Thinking could not have been much wrong, because, one minute it was fine, then next minute nothing. I thought I might have dismounted it while camera was switched on... maybe. A few minutes later, I remount it, nothing...
So, anyway I send it to them.
$110 to find out.
So, today I get email estimate on repair.
Replace barrel base unit,
Reassemble, recalibrate, update firmware, and check functions... $375.
I should have dropped it in that bin, they only worth $350 used, here.
Always go with ya 1st thought when face with 2 options! :)
