A question for those who have both Olympus and Panasonic bodies - does the Oly 60mm focus faster on a native body than on a Panasonic? I am finding it quite difficult to focus quickly enough (in AFS and with it at the shorter 0.19-0.40 focal setting) for moving subjects. Following the bee flies that are present right now is a very mixed bag of results compared to the Panasonic 30mm, for example, which is lightning fast by comparison. It seems to be fine for static subjects, i hasten to add, especially in MF and 1:1, and I am probably still low on the learning curve, but I did not expect it to be quite so problematic to use. Any advice would be welcome....
I have both brand bodies, and it is hard to say for me as I find that lens hunts a lot and focusing seems to depend on lighting and busy backgrounds with spiders.
I consider it a very cantankerous (however you spell it) lens, but probably my second most used lens.
I just keep it glued to my EM10.2 now

Spiders are plain hard.

I've got two macro lenses, and a number of (very) close focusing lenses.

And spiders are still hard ... :( .

^ I’d want to use a super telephoto to give me ample working distance from your scary Australian arachnids :hide:
 The dangerous ones don't build open air type webs.

Red backs (not all have a red stripe), funnelweb spiders and mouse spiders all build compact webs in holes and crevices, or under outdoor dunny seats, in the case of red backs ...

Yes, I have found the same about the focus hunting. I've not had much success with flying insects with it so far on the GX8.

As for the spiders, I have the P30 for that and it is brilliant with spiders, as far as I can see. There are probably better lenses out there for the purpose but the P30 will do me for now. Except in Australia. I'll get John to take the photos there for me :D

Obviously spider season all round! The Oly did okay this morning on a wolf spider species carrying her young across the terrace to a safe haven.
