That's an extremely good image
Did you focus stack?
Almost sounds a derogatory question as though you needed something extra to take such a good photo.
Thank you. It’s a single exposure, the light was good and in the right position to cast no shadows over the leaf, allowing me to use a small aperture. I don’t have the patience to play with stacking.

Well, I have finally joined the O60mm club, courtesy of a birthday present from the family. First shots have been in the lavender, which is heaving with beeflies. Liking the lens so far!

A question for those who have both Olympus and Panasonic bodies - does the Oly 60mm focus faster on a native body than on a Panasonic? I am finding it quite difficult to focus quickly enough (in AFS and with it at the shorter 0.19-0.40 focal setting) for moving subjects. Following the bee flies that are present right now is a very mixed bag of results compared to the Panasonic 30mm, for example, which is lightning fast by comparison. It seems to be fine for static subjects, i hasten to add, especially in MF and 1:1, and I am probably still low on the learning curve, but I did not expect it to be quite so problematic to use. Any advice would be welcome....

In my opinion, neither the Oly 30 or 60 are lightning fast, even on Oly bodies. I've just compared my Oly 60 on my GX80 and EM1.2. On the GX80, it seemed to hunt a bit (focusing on an internal door knob, natural light only on a dull evening), but there wasn't much in it. It was just a crude judgement test though, no timer used. I was trying to capture some bee shots with it on the EM1.2 yesterday and I also found that it could be a little slow to acquire focus. My advice is to be patient, eventually you'll find an accommodating subject. I also frame wide and crop closer in post, that way, the additional depth of field allows for some subject movement. I find 1:1 very difficult. For manual focus, pre-focus then move the camera backwards and fowards in small increments.

I found this video interesting as I also happen to have the 2x teleconverter which he explains you can adapt to the 60mm macro.

with G9 i see no problem with AF-s focusing. Very helpful options is moving AF closer to 1:1. With Pen-f 60/2.8 AF not so perfect like on G9.
