Moving out of macro mode and into my workshop. I am making an awl from an SDS drill bit, grinding and shaping of the bit complete, now to get rid of those scratches before making the handle. Plumbing fittings for the ferrule, still sitting in China.

Fot these two i disassembled a glowstick and dropped the substance of the inner glass tube into the other substance.

Used in camera focus stacking on both. A little disappointed by the artifacts around some of the edges. I used a monopod but there was ever so slight wind.

Very well photograped.
Curious about the ferrule. Not sure what you have in mind. I've used copper pipe but any metal would suffice. Cheaper than chips.
And IMO attractive. Can burnish or engrave, carve, decorate if so desired
