Another bee. Today I learned that bees have five eyes. In addition to the two large compound eyes, there are three simple eyes on top of the head which detect light/shadows but not shapes.

After waiting 4 years to pick one of these up (had 2 canon 500D's for my long zooms) I have to say I love it (especially for the price I paid). This lens will make my amazon jungle trip next year.

I practically live in the jungle, a lens hood and protection filter was a necessary piece of kit for this lens. Shocking really, how much hard use I give mine. Two hoods available for this, one a snazzy thing that slides in and out.
4 years! Well done.

I forgot to mention, love how tiny it is, for what is essentially a 120mm macro lens. I so appreciate the tiny primes in this m4/3 system.

Trying to clean up after some serious pollination work. With Marumi +5 and latest version of Pringles tube flash reflector.

Cool shot!
Guess it had to be, following on from Hayath’s awesomeness.. :)
Well done, like it.
Overall, I’d say the bar is getting set higher every week in this thread.

I'm finding wasps more challenging than bees - they seem to be a lot more active, although maybe I was moving too - looks like I rotated the camera. Anyway, I still get a pretty good hit rate with the Olympus combination.

I watched a video review this morning of the Laowa 2.5-5x lens mounted on a Sony FF mirrorless, and to be honest, it looked a cumbersome set-up in comparison.

This. Before buying I read reviews and never imagined the size. When it was delivered I was pleasantly shocked to see how small it was as compared to Sigma 105mm and 150mm macros that I had for Nikon. The 60mm makes a breeze of handheld macros that I could never achieve with Sigmas. In fact 150 comes with a tripod foot and is nearly impossible to hold that combination with one hand let alone focus, stabilize and press shutter button. I'm so grateful for this little 60mm.
