Olympus 50mm 1.8 question

    ok, so im about to buy this lens, the oly 50mm 1.8, but I was going through the image thread here on this site, and some posts specify that they have a "made in japan" version of the product.
    im just curious, is that a good thing or bad? or just it just make it more authentic or something like that?

    It's a good thing. It means they didn't outsource production.

    They were all made in Japan, there was no outsourcing, the "MADE iN JAPAN" marking is located on the front retainer ring. This indicates the latest version and lens coating.
