I always find it ironic when people who own interchangeable lens cameras fall in love with one lens and never take it off their camera.

I adore the 45mm. The PL25, on the other hand, leaves me cold at almost any price.

It's just like buying an SUV that can crawl over boulders to go to the mall. The capability is never used, yet still useful at cocktail parties.

An interchangeable body means I can upgrade the sensor every couple years.

As much as I like the 45 I think my 12 gets as much use because of the quality of pictures I get from it as well as the fov.
I also like my 20 for other type of photos as well as my Voigtlander 40.
I almost can't say I favor one over the other, they are just different.
I feel lucky to have all four, and will probably add the 14 at some point.

The only thing SUVs and 4WD are good for is getting you stuck further from the main road.

I quite like my 45mm. OTOH, I adore the Leica 25mm. We are all different.

Last week I sold my 45/1.8.. I have sellers remorse big time.. I went back and reviewed some of my flagged shots and there were several good ones with the 45.. I think I will order another one and get it back in my bag..! ASAP

Why use a large heavy slow zoom with poor IQ when you can have a fast sharp small prime on a camera body.

If you want a variety of focal lengths carry a second body with another prime on it.

Heck I bought a 23 mm fast prime lens that had a free body attached to it. I can totally see pairing that with the 45 f1.8 attached to some body (likely the GX1 at this point).

The user not the manufacturer can choose exactly which lens to leave on. What's ironic about that?

I used to use a 24mm on an OM1 and 85mm on an OM4 (sometimes they got swapped) and a 35mm just sat in the small bag that carried it all 99% of the time.

I had other lenses that mostly stayed at home, but could be used if I had a need.

I know it sounds dumb but I'm having trouble getting around my concern that this "silver" lens will look dumb on my black G3. Anyone want to post a photo of that set-up?
