I'm torn between these two lenses for my GH1 body: this one and this one.

    Advantages of the Panasonic:
    OIS
    Further telephoto
    Slightly cheaper

From what I've read, the Olympus is quieter because it's designed for shooting HD videos, which I do a lot of. I could definitely give up the OIS and longer zoom range in favor of the Olympus if it could autofocus quietly in Full HD mode.

My 45-200 focuses pretty darn fast and pretty quiet - waaaay faster and quieter than the 20mm

    Hi there,

I think in de end the best what you can do is look at the image Threads for both lenses to see what lens you like the best.

Than go to a shop and try out both lenses for a while on your camera using them for Photo's and Video. That gives you the best feeling of what you like and do not like about the combination of Camera and Lens.

I had a friend who really wanted to buy a Canon camera and knew all the specs. I adviced him, before he ordered one, to go to a shop and hold it and use it together with other models and brands. He finally bought a Nikon!!

So it is always very personal!!
