I find this lens to be pretty incredible for the price. $99 for images like this? Wild.

All but one shot wide open at 150mm (one was shot at 125mm). Most are pretty significantly cropped. I suppose I need a longer lens .

I'm always amazed at how good this $99 lens really is.

I knew where this is, used to go fishing there all the time for about 20 years until they put up that new Look Out pier. Was an Excellent spot for perch.
The waterfront really changed since moving from the area in 2005.
Lost all my pictures of storm waves blasting over the breakwalls. Got any?

Trying something different today.

As some of you know I seem to have this affinity for trying out inexpensive camera gear and today was another one of those days.
Today it was my Olympus E-M10 III entry level camera with the "Plastic Fantastic" $99 40-150 f/4-5.6 zoom with the addition of a Raynox DC150 close up lens attached to the front. Focusing at 150mm was limited to about 6" from the subject and depth of field was razor thin at that distance. But I did manage a few keepers...this one was the best.

This fly was just a tad bigger than a pin head. The second image shows the outfit with the Raynox attached and an iPhone 7s for size comparison.
