This is a great picture! How did you take it where you have the black background?
Probably underexposed a helluva lot and used direct bright light or a flash from the left side. Just a guess, I'm curious myself
Thank you!
Underexposed(spot metered) with Po right in front of a large window.
Black slider down. White slider up.
There is about a three foot gap of wall on the other side of the window that creates the lovely dead space on the background wall which is painted red which helps kill reflective light.

Just picked this lens up after a very long hiatus. Very pleasing photos for a lot less money. And being mostly plastic it is very light and handy.

Just to showcase the lens a bit more, this is a 100% crop from the above.

Maybe not printable at large size, but still a pretty respectable shot. What's confusing me is why I didn't zoom in and get a shot similar to this at full resolution? I was shooting at 40-50mm to get the full body shots. I could've zoomed in, but just didn't think of it.

Nice work, I am especially impressed by #4 at 1/15 of a second. No OIS on this lens.

Beautiful work but wrong thread I think. This thread is for the cheap 40-150 but it seems you were using the excellent 40-150 PRO.

These are really nice shots, especially #4, but I see these are the 2.8 lens.

Thanks for the positive comments, much appreciated. I'm such a muppet, I just saw the 40-150mm and didn't read the aperture, I'll move them to the right thread.
