Know that familiar sound. Glad yours worked out okay.
Beautiful bird.
I was told once they need warmth after such a mishap.
I've put them in an open shoe box or even egg container with small birds and a bit of cloth to hide drafts.
Never knew if it made any difference.
This is in northern Thailand and current temperature is 32C or 90F so think he's going to be warm enough. :)

A couple of landscapes (don't see too many with the 40-150):

This really is such a versatile lens. Focus-stacked hand held at 1/20s on EM1.3. This is the in-camera stack (shriek, horror - it's an out of camera JPEG; well out of my comfort zone ;) ) with a little tweaking in LR.

I'm learning, but I'm so impressed with this lens, on a star tracker (MSM) and a cheap shaky tripod, it just does such a fantastic job.

I rented this lens last week. I’d intended to use it to photograph a cross country race the next morning, but hadn’t realized the autofocus wouldn’t work with my G9. Much cheaper lesson that if I’d bought it. I took a hike with it and was pleased with the handling and the resulting images. Perhaps I’ll add an OM-D body to my lineup, because I do want that extra 50mm (compare to my 35-100 lumix) for sports sometimes.

Why is the AF not working with your G9? Did you have the MF clutch ring pulled back by accident? The AF on that lens should work with all bodies.

Cripes, I think you’re right. Now I kind of want a refund, since neither guy helping me bothered to find a solution… and it was as simple as this. Good know know though, and as I said earlier, relatively cheap lesson. Thanks!

Stunning. Are you using a Raynox or other macro lens attachment to get these close focus shots with beautiful bokeh?
No, just the optic (and a small composition crop where needed, to cut out disturbing leaves). 40-150 can render nice OOF, even if forums would say otherwise. Surely, I didn't play particular care to get better BG, I composed (almost) as I liked and took shots, which came out nice enough to appreciate them and share. Thanks for your support!

Glad you figured it out. I had used this lens with the G9 without any issues and was going to speak up. They pair pretty well together, IMO.
