Below you can see more samples. There are more on my flickr page at full resolution. All from RAW files.

So far my initial impressions about the lens are:

  • Build construction is fantastic
  • autofocus is very fast with the E-M1
  • very sharp at 2.8 already
  • the minimum focus distance of 70cm is great
  • with the MC-14, the fastest aperture is f/4 and is slightly less sharp. It's fine from 5.6
  • Autofocus is the same with the MC-14, it can occasionally go back and forth at the longest focal lenght
  • With the GH4 in video mode, I had a few issues in AF-C but I need to dig more into that.

I also shot footage with the GH4 in 4K, I'll share it once the editing is done.

Obviously that lens and TC are rubbish. Sorry you are burdened with them. I can PM you my shipping address and will even pay for postage.

I downloaded the full resolution version from flickr and I see all blurred (eyes, face ...).

I expect a little more sharpness of this lens ( maybe a shutter shock problem or maybe the IBIS don´t work fine this time ).

Please forgive my poor English ;)

I don't see all blurred, what do you mean exactly?

Hi Paul, I will make more tests with the GH4. I haven't updated the GH4 with the latest firmware so that might fix it.

For me, that is not sharpness.

I don´t know where is the problem, lens or shutter speed or a problem of shutter shock.

Moreover congratulations for your website, for me it is a reference and has a lot of interesting reviews of gear.
It's not shutter shock or shutter speed. I had the face detection on and I think the focus didn't lock precisely on her eyes.
Anyway, here is another 100% crop at 2.8.

oh the dilemma, save for this or just buy 50-200... I am seriously torn now though the funny thing is I have any number of images I would consider just as sharp from a number of lenses on the EM1

Did you check out all the samples, like the "big eye" for example?

I checked three, the girl was very blur, the swan (was ok but was not totally sharp, maybe the focus was on the wing not on the head) and the "big eye" was ok, so I had doubts about the sharpness of the lens at f2.8.

The crop of the last duck is fine and is sharpness :)
