Olympus 25mm f/1.8 Image Thread

I know a few folks have started receiving their new Oly 25s. Mine arrived from Amazon yesterday. Thanks to "snow day" (still have to work from home, though, even if offices shut down. Everyone in the Southeast and Northeast US, stay warm, stay safe!), had a few minutes to take a few quick snaps. All SOOC JPGs, slight tweak on the photo of icicles (exposure brighten, clarity) on LR 4.4. I had the superb Panny 25mm 1.4, but sold it off when I switched briefly to the X-Pro 1 and its 50mm equiv, the 35; I also found the Panny too big for my mu43 bodies (E-P2 and 1). This lens is great, much more compact, and tack sharp, no rattle snaking, quick focus and free lens hood! Fits my GX-7 like a glove, and looks good on the E-M5 as well (images of lens on cameras posted on another thread last night; pardon the crappy iPad images).

Quick Test....

Rec'vd my copy today, went home for lunch from work......took 4 shots, here is one of them, primary it was to test the lens........shot in RAW, resized in ov3, no post tweaks, no time at lunch, hungry!...test 1-2 check! Anyway have not played with Pl25, but what I have seen so far......Excellence IMHO!!!

It finally came in, and bright sunshine and snow don't make for ideal shooting conditions. :smile: Here's a close up at f2.2, 1/100 s, iso 200 shot RAW. I tried to get some sharpness and bokeh at a fairly wide aperture. You can get to the original by clicking. No resizing, just a little cropping.

I like what I am seeing so far. great images, very sharp with little if any distortion or aberration.

I got the tripod out and turned off the IS. (BTW, this was the first time I've used the EM5 on a tripod and that tilting touchscreen is really nice.) The vodka was a bit off center in the original shot which I cropped. No political overtones intended. I like the Vodka bottle and didn't' notice the American flag until I started shooting.:smile: f1.8, 1/80 s. iso 500, about 14 inches away.

Took some photos at a friends wedding this weekend.. I like this lens a lot! I wish the conditions were a better.. extremely dark and cloudy, most iso around 2000
