I agree with your opinion , the two lenses metioned are so special...on the final results.This lens is clearly very special. It has such a high return of results that make a shot look that little bit special for no obvious reason. On the optical bench, it does not "wow" with results, if anything resolution tests are pretty ordinary, but in use it certainly delivers. Olympus either got lucky or very carefully designed it to have some "magic"... a smooth yet sharp enough "glow" is how I would try and describe it. Many Leica lenses over the years have been unimpressive in a bench test yet produced the most pleasing images. I also find the 12-100 f4 Pro has this quality... I never thought I would ever say that about a zoom... let alone a superzoom. These two lenses in your camera bag are so powerful and rewarding covering most subjects and opportunities that are presented.
