Just saw that. :/

I guess that Cameta will (eventually) get my money instead.
I'd rather shop with them as well, better warranty, no tax and much faster shipping but it seems they aren't getting much from Olympus these days.

Wow, a reconditioned EM1 for $832.19 (plus tax I'm sure) - or should I still go with the brand new EM10...

decisions, decisions....

I checked shortly after I received the email (13:32 EDT) and IF there were any 12-40 f/2.8 lenses, they sold before I arrived. :frown:

Anyone else ever purchase a reconditioned camera - I'm kind of scared....
Refurbished/Reconditioned camera directly from manufacture is nothing to scare about. It has shorter warranty, but good as new. And extended warranty can be purchased separately.

If you pay with an American express card, they will double the refurbished warranty from 90 days to 180 days. As I understand it, Visa and Mastercard only doubles new products.

Nope not good as new all the time. My first E-P5 had 700+ shutter count and IBIS that kept getting stuck and error codes logged in memory plus a tiny scratch on the screen. It was almost as if someone at the refurb center made sure it takes a few pictures, cleaned and repacked it without doing extensive testing. I had to do a return and rebuy because they don't do exchanges on refurbs. Had to convince them to honor the 20% on the rebuy, at least Oly customer service was pleasant to deal with. Also takes about a month for a refund. Good news is my second E-P5 was in like new condition with around 200 shutter count.

Don't feel too bad, I bought a new 75-300mm MKii on B and H yesterday so I could have it for the weekend. They have free expedited shipping this week BTW. When I checked the Olympus Outlet at lunch time from work they had the 75-300mm Mkii there with the summer sale. But by the time I got home it was gone and anything else I tried to add the the cart says out of stock. I've never bought from the Outlet do they accept paypal?
