I've orderred a black 17/2.8 for the white E-P5 that lives in my belt pouch. Together, they should look stunning.
I know that this lens gets bashed a lot as not sharp enough, but the many reviewers on Amazon and B&H Photo disagree. Photodo rated its resolving power as almost as good as the 17/1.8. Mostly I'll use it between f/4 and f/8, its sweet band.
Abive all, I'm smitten by the subdued rendering and natural colors I've seen in this showcase.
To my pleasant surprise, the 17mm f/2.8 lens can accept the Olympus LC-37C automatic lens cap; there's a short video showing this combination in operation on YouTube. I can't help but wonder whether more people would choose this lens if they knew.

I actually like mine.

Took the 17/2.8 on the PenF for a compact outfit.

Bid on an eBay auction and won it. I kind of like it so far.

And the obligatory dog shot. The bokeh balls in the background are interesting.

The 17mm/2.8 is my standard lens on the GM5 - they fit so well together and make such a compact kit.
The following were shot at "La Pointe", Rivière-du-Loup (Quebec, Canada), on the south shore of the St-Lawrence River. I spent summers there as a kid, jumping on the rocks and playing with the water...

Recently acquired a copy of this tiny Olympus pancake lens, and I have to say: it seems to 'render' beautifully.

It may wind up staying semi-permanently attached to my old Pen E-P3.

I see quite a bit of blue chromatic aberration there on the upper part of the photo.
Couldn't this have been corrected by software?

I also used this underrated lens for a series of semi-documentary shots - looking into the shop-window of an eclectic Oregon store which specializes, among other things, in Halloween masks, costumes, and other ghoulish All-Hallows-Eve paraphernalia. Everything from grinning skeleton - or 'Calaveras' as they are called in Mexico--

I've been a fan of different Olympus color signatures for some time, but I must admit as well that this small lens creates files which respond nicely to monochrome treatment as well.

The 17mm Zuiko pancake which now seems to be semi-permanently affixed to my Pen E-P3 is actually the 3rd copy of this lens I have owned. The other two I used extensively with previous digital Pens - an E-PL2 and also a first generation E-P1 - but I sold my previous copies when I replaced those cameras with other ones. But now, the more I use this lens - the more I remember how much I liked it on my previous cameras - and how generally versatile it is.

Took this today at a local (Southern Oregon) supermarket, where most of the remaining Halloween merchandise is disappearing, and getting replaced by Thanksgiving-related turkey stuff. But this Witch was hanging around...just waiting to have her picture taken ;)

The tiny pancake 17mm seems to have been made for the E-P1/E-P2/E-P3/E-P5 series. Years ago, when I had an E-P1, I used an earlier copy of this underrated little pancake with it a great deal; now that I have an E-P3, my newly re-acquired copy is proving to be every bit as versatile.

This was taken in a local (Southern Oregon) library, with available light.

Christmas light display at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, Boylston, MA, USA.

My first time out with the lens. Shot in M mode, added +0.5-2.0 EV exposure compensation in post.
