My 17 1.2 will be heading off to Olympus this week. It isn’t being recognised when attached to a camera body. Tried a few different bodies but at the moment it is a brick.

Spent this past weekend in Chicago for a friend's wedding. Brought a bag full of gear (2 E-M1 II's, PL 8-18, 12-100, 17/1.2, 45/1.2, flashes).

I didn't use the PL 8-18 once, the 12-100 only came out of the bag for a few hours for a handful of shots, the 45/1.2 was used on the secondary camera during the rehearsal dinner for some photos, but by and large the most used lens was the 17/1.2. It's such a convenient focal length, and the lens is great on an E-M1 II handling-wise. Here are a few pics taken with the lens from this past weekend.

Finally purchased the 17 Pro... it's a solid astrophotography lens. This image is one made by stacking 6 images to reduce noise and get more details. F1.2, ISO 1600, 15 second exposure (x6). Cheers!

Here's another one of the Milky Way over Mt. Starr King. 17 Pro, f1.2, ISO 3200, 13 seconds x 9 light frames and 1 dark frame stacked. The moon (about quarter moon) lights the mountains.

Edit: Coma is well controlled with this lens at f1.2. Snap manual focus makes focusing easy, and the weather sealing toughness means you can deal with weather. Great lens!

EM1.2 set to live view boost also helps framing. The milky way was visible on the back screen while compositing, so that made it easy to frame shots.

Last note... stacking images helps with noise quite a lot. It allows for a more robust file afterwards for post processing, and helps the m43 sensor close the gap to the point where I don't feel the need to add a FF kit for specialist genres like this for my output needs. It more than passes the bar! YMMV, of course.

That is a wonderful photo. Where was it taken?

It does not look like it was taken out of an airport window but, if not, where?

The location for this image is Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park. Easy to get to and setup. It’s at ~7300 feet. Then 3000 feet straight down to Yosemite Valley and then back up to 9000 ft. to the top of Half Dome. Hence the sensation of being high.
