Great images as usual @Phocal , but I really like the perspective of these images. Being that you're in a kayak and thus lower than the birds, it yields a perspective that is very different than typical bird photos. Also, the yellow tone of the reeds that the birds are sitting on, coupled with the blue skies, really makes for some great complementary colors.

Thanks. It is a very different perspective for these birds. They are really shy and elusive and getting close to them (on foot/belly or kayak) is not that easy, it a lot easier in the kayak. Shooting from just below them and close to the reeds they typically perch on is not something you typically see, because they are so shy. I honestly am not sure I could get this perspective shooting from land unless I am really lucky and using a hide.

Their young should be fledging soon and I am hoping to get some shots of the babies when they do. It will two weeks before I can get back out there but I am really looking forward to it.

Vintage GP Jim? Been a few years for me but it's a great event. Nice shots.
Yes. They now run faster cars (Trans-Am Camaro's & Mustangs, etc., modern sports cars, etc.) the weekend before at a track about 45 minutes north of the city. Then there are events throughout the city during the week, culminating with races of "slower" cars through Schenley Park.

It's a fantastic event, one that I didn't really appreciate until the past couple years.

The house across the street from me caught on fire yesterday evening. Everyone (and their pets) made it out ok, so after ensuring that my house and other neighboring structures were safe, I grabbed a camera...

Just a question of curiosity:
Why is the 150mm f/2 called the "Little Tuna"? I know that the 300mm f/2.8 is the "Big Tuna" but why is a Tuna associated to the Zukio tele primes?

They are splashproof for one..;), but I assume it has to do with them being wide/fat bodied compared to the other 4/3rds lenses.

That gets me a little closer. The "Big Tuna" still looks like a normally proportioned telephoto... So which came first, the small chicken of the sea or the big one?
