Awesome, thank you for posting those pictures. Oly's HG and SHG really are among the best lenses out there. Their prices make you weep though.

    Hi RT
Yes this guy rocks for sure! I love this lens! Cant wait for the E7 to arrive and it is going to be magical with this lens. It AF much more consistently with the E5 than the EM5.

Hi Dangermouse, I love shooting birds and have been doing so for about 5 years now. Started off with pana FZ10. Bought into the E5/150f2 system about 2 years now. Has been great fun since and the IQ is just super.
    Great investment.

    Have a nice day guys

    Hi
My oly 150mm is much sharper than my 100-300mm even when i stop the panny down. The corner to corner resolution is outstanding. When i use aperture like f4- f5.6 i can see Moiré. That's mean this lens outresolve the OMD.
Ric in your comparaison you're at f2 with the Zuiko 150mm and we can see how sharp this thing is. However the dof is too shallow here; The 100-300mm has more DOF (f4.5) so a better image here.
With it's build quality (wheater sealed), sharpness even wide open, DOF control & low light shooting capability (f/2) etc the Zuiko is for me a clear winner.

Hi Steph, thanks for sharing your shooting tips with me. I will stop down like you suggested n hopefully overcome the inconsistent sharpness I am getting becos of the shallow DOF.
When I first bought the 150 I had to shoot at f4 to get sharp images on my E5. Now I can shoot at f2 on the E5 n get sharp images - guess I have gotten the hang of it. But does not seem to work on the EM5!!

Do you shoot in SAF or CAF?
Are you shooting handheld or tripod?
Me I shoot in SAF and handheld.
    Thanks for sharing your technique.

I compared the IQ from the EM5 with f2 vs f4. Viewed it at 100% and I still prefer the color, tonal balance and light quality (shimmers) from f2. With f4 the ISO goes from 200 to 800 which that affects the color accuracy. But shutter speed holds at 250 for both f condition.
I still prefer the IQ from the 150 with E5 combo and the shooting experience is much more enjoyable. Very clumsy using the Black Rapid strap on the EM5. A joy on the E5/150 combo. Guess I am spoilt becos I had the E5 combo before the EM5 came along.
    You have a nice day

I shoot handled in Manual focus or SAF.
I don't mind using higher ISO because the Em5 is really good up to iso1600. I'm generally @ f/5.6 and I use fast shutter speed( > 1/1000s). I prefer a slighty noisy picture (i shoot raw) to a clean blurry one.

Do you have the optional grip on the EM5 ? It's really nice with the 150 SHG :
