The original version of the lens was a 9/8 design (thread for it is here). The second version is an 8/7 design, so it warrants having a separate thread.

Here are some shots from today:

It's a great little all rounder. Mine was from the E-PL3 kit

I use mine primarily for video, but these shots may entice me to shoot some more stills.

I'm sure its image quality is superb, but I just hate having to "unlock" and "lock" it. That was one of the problems I had with some of the lenses on my V1 too (but at least the V1 turned the camera on when the lens was unlocked). I've got the 14-42 but I certainly don't use it and bought another mid-range zoom to replace it.

    A little fun with fire

Took the Olympus E-P3 out for a spin last night with the 14-42mm Kit lens. Great fun! These were long exposure shots, and I thought the lens did superbly.

Hi! It's actually really unscientific- you set up the camera on a tripod, fill up a metal kitchen whisk with steel wool (with the end tied to either a camera strap or a string), stand back and shine a torch on the person's head to locate the focus, and then light up the wool. It burns really quickly and goes out quickly too. Person with the cable just spins it in a circle ^^

Sent using my phone. Excuse any autocorrect

I am newbie in the :43: world, and really an amateur photographer but I'm eager to learn :)

I want to show you some shots, taken with E-PL3, OOC JPEGs, no processing (only using in camera artistic filters: B&W or Dramatic Tone). I hope you like them, comments are really appreciated. Thanks for viewing.

Really an underestimated lens, IMO. Got this while standing in line for movie tickets.
