Cameta Camera is blowing out Olympus 14-150mm factory refurbs for $329 with free shipping. Apparently this is not a new deal. I would have bit long ago if I had known about it!

This is a great, versatile lens which is about the same size as the Olympus E-M5 12-50mm kit zoom and sells new for $599. I ordered mine today. Link:

If you're looking for a bargain Micro 4/3 body, Cameta also has some great deals on factory refurbished camera bodies: Refurbished Cameras[img]http://www.tqlkg.com/image-6066856-11025758" width="1" height="1" border="0"/>

I got this from them about a month ago for this price. If you haven't dealt with them before, no worries, GREAT people!

Wow, this is a crazy deal!
How would this work on a Panasonic body with no stabilization? Worth a try?

Thanks! I've always sort of eyed this lens as a compact super-zoom. Picked one up. If I don't like it, I can always sell it and not lose much money.

This is an even better deal than the one I found on Cameta just a few weeks ago- was initially concerned about ordering a refurbished product, but on arrival it appeared brand new. Very happy with the purchase, and will be more inclined to order refurbished products with them in the future if the prices are good.

Thanks Amin for keeping us updated on these great deals.

I think you could try it and sell without much of a loss, possibly no loss at all. Adorama has a good deal on the Panasonic 14-140 right now, but it's still a big price (and weight) difference: Panasonic Lumix Vario 14mm-140mm for Micro Four Thirds System HVS014140

Thanks Amin. I bought this lens from Cameta a while ago under the same deal. It came in perfect condition, and it is a great walk around lens to have. I have bought a number of items from Cameta and have had great experiences in each instance.

So now I'm in a quandary, I have enough money to get the VF3 and a couple of other accessories, which is what I was planning to do. Now I have to decide between that and this lens, which looks pretty handy.

Decisions, decisions.....

I'm very curious to hear a comparison of the 14-150 and the 12-50. Neither seems to get much love, but I have been happy with the 12-50. At this price the 14-150 is tempting.

The 14-150 is a faster, more versatile lens in terms of focal length.

The 12-50 is a good versatile weather sealed lens that doubles as a macro. It's also my only 12mm lens so I use it for that too.

I travel a bit and when the weather is poor you gotta have that weather seal.

From 14-50 under normal conditions -- much different IQ?

I'd love to buy the 14-150 and ditch the 12-50, but for the reasons you point out the 12-50 is a keeper. I already have the 45-200, so the 14-150 would really just be a nice all-around lens for the E-M5. Not sure I really need that.

I would enjoy a weather sealed 14-150, actually. It wouldn't be a instant buy though. A port of the 12-60 with sealing would be an instant purchase for me.

I am surprised this is not a lens you already owned

If there is it'd be hard to tell unless you're pixel peeping the corners.

Typically a longer zoom range would give you softer corners.

I am not the type that shoots charts to see how soft corners are. Sorry won't be able to help you.

I started out with Panasonic bodies and owned the Pana 14-140 for quite a while. Eventually I realized I wasn't using it and sold. However, the Oly 14-150 is enough lighter than the Pana 14-140 to make a difference to me, and at this price it's a no brainer.

I'm a prime shooter at heart and typically head out with two bodies and two lenses in one of the following configurations:

OMD/PL25, GX1/P14
OMD/O45, GX1/P14
OMD/O45, GX1/P20

However, I think that I'll really enjoy OMD/O14-150 abd GX1/PL25 together.
