I realise this is an astro photo, but I think it's worth the Showcase department just to show what this lens is capable of, at the 12mm end anyway.
This is a stack of 21 frames, from two different 12-40mm lenses. Bottom right of picture shows a problem with stacking registration, not a lens problem. Maybe both lenses were not exactly at 12mm.
The picture is a portion of the Milky Way.
The brown splodge 2/3 down is the Coal Sack, next to the Southern Cross.
The pink splodge in centre is the Carina Nebula.
And the fuzzy patch upper right is the Large Magellanic Cloud, the closest visible galaxy to the Milky Way galaxy.

Team Nikon - and the 12-40 Pro proving more than up to the job of hi-res without even breaking a sweat...what a superb bit of kit. :)

I decided to make the commute to downtown LA, though for a photo walk rather than work. Very easy to keep a safe distance from people when there are only a handful per block rather than hundreds.

Processed the JPG in DXO Film Pack 5 using the Kodachrome 64 filter.
