Agreeing with that, I do think they will be on par with the PL 1.4 size-wise, though. If they could come in at a somewhat more handy price-point as well, say no more than the current PL 25 mm f:1.4, I would upgrade the 1.7 and 1.8 primes I have, for the weather-sealing alone.
Of course, sometimes a patent will be taken out to stop someone else developing the same configuration. I wonder what is specific about the design to justify the patent, and what the two arrows half way down the lens signify?
If they're not too expensive.... I'll be going to London next March-ish, and will be taking my E-M5 MkIII (hopefully, I'll buy one as long as it's not a disappointing turd) with the 12-40 f/2.8. I'd like to have a prime, and right now, the 17mm f/1.8 is what I'll probably end up getting. That kit will fit in my Peak Design 5L sling bag. The E-M5 MkII fits in it great with the 12-40 on it and one additional lens.
I could see either a 14 or 16mm prime, as long as it's not HUGE and not stupid expensive. My intentional use will be indoors, such as inside museums and such. The 12-40mm will be the "walking around" lens.
