So I pulled out my Oly 7-14mm this am and the hood was wiggling and heard something loose inside. :( Grrrrr. Figured I broke something plastic inside that hold the hood on.

And little investigation reveals 3 metal screws that hold the hood in place. One was out and the others were loose. Quick tighten and test and all fixed. Must remove the snap ring around front element carefully to reveal said screws. Here is a photo with screws highlighted:

Hope this helps someone else in the future.

Thanks for the info. How do you take off the snap ring?

The snap ring has 3 small notches in it. You can carefully rotate it counterclockwise till it stops(about 5mm). Then use the notches to pop it out.

Jesus, can someone at Olympus figure out what the hell thread locker is, and make it a mandatory item on ALL of their screws?
