Hi...I am new to the forum, as well as to micro 4/3 cameras. I have had my G5 for about a month and love it. Just picked up an Olympus 40-150 lens but was very disappointed that it didn't fit my G5...can you advise what adapter I need to get in order to use this lens? thanks much.

Hi there ..Welcome to this wonderful forum and congrats on getting G5. Probably you have picked up 4/3 version of this lens and you need a 4/3 to m4/3 adaptor . It costs around USD 99 and you can AF with this lens .
    Cheers

thanks!! this forum is truly great -- unlike other forums I've been on thru the years, the people I've 'met' here are nice, there's no friction, and they freely give advice and answers with no malice intended!

hi, sorry....there seem to be many of these....can any adapter be used? such as this: Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter, Olympus OM Zuiko Lens to Micro 4/3 Olympus PEN and Panasonic Lumix Cameras

Or this? Leica M Lens to Micro 4/3 Four Thirds System Camera Mount Adapter, Olympus PEN E-P1 E-P2, Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1, GH1, G2

thanks much. leaving on a trip in two weeks and want to have all photo items safely learned and ready to go!

The adapters are mount-specific, so for example, the Leica M Lens to Micro 4/3 adapter is for using Leica M mount lenses on micro 4/3 camera bodies. So you need a 4/3 (lens) to m4/3 (camera) adapter.

Would it be possible to return the 4/3 mount 40-150mm lens though, and get the micro 4/3 version instead?

For not much more than the cost of a DMW-MA1, you can get a native Olympus mZD 40-150mm refurbished lens from Cameta that will work without an adapter on your G5 and autofocus faster than the lens you bought with the adapter.

Do what Amin suggests. Focusing with the older 43 lens will be dog slow.
