I just received the same notice and am checking sites to see if there is more information.

Maybe Olympus has changed the SKU/Part number and the B&H system has automatically sent out the notice as the old part number is now flagged as being discontinued?

    just a guess

    Almost certainly that's the case.

I still think this lens will be a tough sell. Tamron, Nikon and Sigma have all released super zooms that are optically very good, priced moderately and work with aps-c DSLRs.

Pretty funny actually. For nearly two years I have received weekly e-mails from B&H that the 300 F4 Pro was not available yet. When we are getting near to an actual release (hopefully) they send out an email that it has been discontinued.

I am still holding out for my idea that the rumoured 2500 (insert currency of your choice) price is actually for some bundle of lens, teleconvertor and red dot sight and a branded backpack/bag :)

    we will see

It looks like B&H is resetting the pre-ordering of the 300mm f4 for a January release.

It was a narrow window of availability.

Ooooh... Let's start that discussion again.

I think the rumored prices are just that, rumors. There hasn't been anything definitive that also mentioned currency.

there has been nothing definitive full stop :).. well apart from the fact that there is a lens being developed. Even Olympus have admitted to that!

The lens and statements about it are in the latest Oly mag ads.
