I have an olympus epl2 with the 14-42II MSC kit lense.
When filming video, I can hear the lense focus. Is that normal?
I know they say it's silent, but I also know that's almost impossible to achieve, so the question is how loud should it be?
I can hear it in a video, but it's not bad.
I have no experience with other m4/3 lenses, so can't compare.

    Any insight?

    Hello Chris196,

So far my 14-42mm MKII has been silent. I cannot hear any noise in use or in my videos. I hope others chime in and share their experiences...

Do you have to concentrate to hear the focus noise or is it obvious? If it's obvious you may have a defective lens.

    Thanks for the feedback.
I can definitely hear it in the video without concentrating.
The lense seems to focus fine, but the noise is annoying.

    No sound on mine...

    Hey Chris,

I have the new lens and the e-pl2 and hear no sound from mine. Quite as can be.
