Olly 9-18 Any Idea What's Going On Here?

Shot within a few seconds of each other at same settings the colour is poles apart............the whole gun being the more true colour. Processed to JPG but the RAWS have the same disparity in colour?

White-balance was set to "Auto".
In the second photo auto-whitebalance neutralized the material to grey - as it had no way of determining if it's blue-ish paint or blue-ish light...

Would agree. The first shot has enough background to set a normal balance. Not in the second. You could try taking a white balance reading for both photos in the processing from the fourth row up of the stone base of the building in the left of photo 2, and see if it corrects the gun.

First is in shade, second is direct sun. I find mft white balance is pretty basic...

interesting piece of artillery Kevin, and very nicely captured.
I see it took a front on bullet, not sure from photo if it went through but made a heck of a dent!
Interesting one of these was found buried on our local tip site minus the wheels.
A clever bloke made some new ones, but not quite as smart as these originals.
