    How are you?
My name is Gonçalo, I'm 29 and Portuguese.
I've been into photography for many years. It is what I love.
I am not a pro, I just shoot for fun and for myself.

I've joined this forum, because recently I've bought my first m43 camera.
I was getting tired of lugging my DSLR and was finding myself shooting less.

I was wanting to buy a smaller camera, and didn't know which one.
Was reading a lot of reviews and going to a lot of forums.
Until I went to a local store and found a bargain on a E-PL2 with the 14-42mm II lens.
I liked the camera very much.
    This week I got a 20mm 1.7 and now I'm sold on m43!

It is really fun to shoot with this camera, and I'm concentrating more on photographing and less on equipment.

Hope to learn a lot here and meet some great people!

    Cheers to all!

Micro 4/3 opens up new opportunities, for me at least. I hope you'll enjoy the photography and the discussions here. I certainly do.

Olá Gonçalo, espero que te divirtas por aqui. Foi com uma 20mm 1.7 que me iniciei mas certamente vais descobrir outras delícias do sistema m4/3.

heh heh Yes this is the byline of most of us. I felt exactly the same way. I love to photograph birds and wildlife and my Nikon with a decent telephoto was a complete monster and besides there was no way I was going to spend thousands for the real tele I needed to really get decent shots. I kinda feel sorry for the canikon masses that just don't get it.

Olá Gonçalo, bem vindo a este forum!

Welcome to this very friendly and informed forum.

    You'll certainly feel at home.

I second the opinion about the Olympus 45mm: it is a wonderful lens.

Congrats for your Flickr album, you have some great photos there (from which I assume yo live in or near Lisbon).

    Abraço desde Ponte de Lima,

Thank you all for the welcoming.
    Yes, I am from Lisbon.

So far, I'm really loving the E-PL2.
It's a small camera that is really surprising me on a daily basis.
I'm still getting to know it, but I'm really liking using it.
And it is really fun, which is what photography is all about.

The 45mm is definitely on my list, because I like to shoot portraits and street candids, and the focal length with that fast aperture is a must.

    Cheers to all!
