Thanks, swifty, for the update! looks like a great lens - but methinks that the talent of those who have posted equals or exceeds the lens quality too.

A ISO12800 shot, wanted to capture this fellow's take off flight, so set shutter speed to 1/2000, but need to dial the ISO to 12800. Didn't manage to grab the action though.
Think with this high ISO, the sensor still manage to retain some details.
Image was shot only in Jpg, without any processing except cropping.

I had thought the metadata would automatically populate when the image was uploaded, I didn’t see it, so typed it in. Thanks, @BosseBe!
The Exif is empty for that picture, it happens sometime when you upload the picture from other sites as Flickr.
If you upload from your computer look at the settings at export, there has been mention of missing Exif from Photoshop.

Mine arrived today! It's a bigger beast than the G85 it replaces, but wow does it feel eager to take photos. First three are with ye ol' 45-150--the zinnia shot being near dusk! Had to do an obligatory cat photo, wide open with the 25mm 1.7 in relatively low light.

Thanks! I have posted a few of my samples in various places here. Mostly in the sample lens categories. I don't have many sweeping vistas where I live, but I still do my best to get out and shoot. I think the first thing I'll do is build a proper lens collection and then maybe pull the trigger (shutter?) on the G9.
I agree with you.
It is a good idea to build a good lens collection (not necessary many, but a few quality ones), and then get a better camera body.
That's what I did.
I've started with entry level second hand camera bodies, but slowly invested in good glass (the ones that served better the type of photography I like to do the most). A set of good quality primes allow me to get excellent results even with modest camera bodies.
And later I got a better camera body.

Continuing to impress, even with non-Leica glass. :)

This camera is blowing my mind at the moment. Even with a $90 used lens, the detail is there.

First day out with my new to me G9, upgrading from an EM1 that I had for a week. Lens is the Pan/Leica 100-400. Had been using Nikon D500 and 200-500, but weight was killing me after an auto accident in February that messed up my neck, so came back to m43 for weight savings. Tried an EM1, but too big of a performance hit with CAF coming from the Nikon. However, I’m very pleased with performance of G9, in many ways a mini D500, both in performance and AF speed (in some ways better performance, love the pre-burst capture!)

Anyway, these are photos of a female bobcat I’ve followed for three years now. This year she has three kittens (only two pictured) and I’m looking forward to watching them grow up. She successfully raised two last year, quite an amazing privilege to have this opportunity with a wild animal.
