I was playing around trying to get a few bird photos again today testing the difference between normal small focus boxes and pin point focus. I definately got more shots in focus with pin point especially in hard situations where not all the bird was in view.
Below is one example of a poor bird shot but sort of demonstrates pin point focus usefullness.

First-day chasing birds with the G85 and was a cool, windy day at the lakes. The longest lens in the bag right now is the 35-100X but it sure proved its mettle.

In the sea of American Coots waiting for the kids to throw some corn was this juvenile Snow Goose, its gray color brilliant against the black. They're kinda rare here.

And this lone Egret waiting to see if there was any sushi in that bag of corn. Spoiler alert; he went away hungry. Gotta love the look of anticipation though.

These are gorgeous. I'm a big fan of long tailed tits. We have some in nearby park, but they are very elusive.

Yeah cute little things, very playful, unfortunately the larger birds [which is pretty much every other bird we get here] chase them away mostly. They had this rare moment having the feeder to themselves and took advantage
