I've done some research around the forum and couldn't find an "official" image thread for the G2. However, I did find a G3 Photo thread and I was thinking "what if the G2 owners have a thread dedicated to photos?"

It's been about a week since I've owned the camera. Still getting used to the manual focus. I'm debating between a Panasonic 14F2.5 or 20F1.7?

If you really want example images, all of these Panasonic cameras share the same sensor, and provides the same image quality:
    G1
    GF1
    G2
    GF2
    GF3

The only differences for still photography between the above cameras are handling and ergonomics.

So, the 3 Panasonic cameras with unique sensors are the GH1, GH2, and G3. Other than that, if you see a Panasonic photo, you can assume that it is representative of the G2.

Had a portrait session with my friend yesterday. Anybody have any tips for using manual focus for portraits?

As for tips on focusing with manual lenses- try pressing in the rolling wheel and it will zoom the image 2X making critical focus easier~ enjoy.

Thanks. It's hard using MF lenses especially without IBIS.Images that I think are sharp aren't because of my little movements before taking the shot.

That's where a fast lens helps. It allows you to use a higher shutter speed, reducing chances of motion blur.

Stopped on the way home for work, but the sunset wasn't all that colorful. Turned out to be ok as far as I'm concerned.
