So I was out and about today and my new black 45mm died on me. The rear screen went blank. Cycled power switch, cycled battery, cycled body, nada.
Firmware screen doesn't show a lens.
I sure am glad this is one of the few lenses I've bought new.

    Anyone else have this happen?
Is there a fancy way to do a reset before I ship it back?

Try cleaning to lens contacts? You try it on a different body?

Yeah both G5 and PM2 are fine with other lenses. The 45mm makes a short buzz sound and then nothing.

I guess I'll send it in. :frown:

My first 45mm 1.8 was defective. It always showed on my GF1 "no lens attached" or something to that effect. I sent it back and supplier sent me a new one. Working well until now.

Hope you find a solution John.

Damn that sucks, the 45 1.8 is a excellent lens, built quality to optics.

That's what worries me about these lenses. I wish there was a switch or something were you could focus and change aperture manually.
