O 45 f1.8 vs P 42.5 f1.7

Well surprise, surprise. I checked a Panasonic 20mm V-II versus an Olympus 17mm and the Panasonic definitely has an edge in contrast and sharpness. Probably not a big difference in these two lenses, but some.

I'm confused as to why differences between a Panasonic 20mm II and Olympus 17mm f/1.8 have any bearing on the differences between the Panasonic 42.5 and Olympus 45mm. Completely different optical structures, type of glass used, etc.

Sorry if I drifted off topic a bit. @davidzvi and @mauro had commented on whether Olympus of Panasonic lenses in general have more contrast. I was citing a finding I made which was somewhat of a surprise to me - that for those two lenses, the Panasonic has more contrast. Sorry if I was off topic. Just a little.
