Went to check out the NY Photo Expo with some people.

    All photos taken with GX1 + 20mm/1.7.

    heading out.

Olympus had the coolest exhibit, with Tough models frozen in a block of ice and gymnasts and jugglers and tons of OM-Ds and EPLs/EPMs to try out. they were giving out yoyos.

For some reason this seemed to be the most popular exhibit...

I wanted to go to this badly but busy work and my better half's bday kept me from this. Did you happen to see if Olympus brought the 17mm f/1.8 with them?

Really enjoyed viewing these, particularly those from the "lame" flea market

I see posts such as your's and sometimes miss living in a major metro area; something I haven't done in over 2 decades. Makes me realize just how many photo opportunities I lack out here in the sticks. Thanks for posting these!

Man, do I miss NYC. Chicago just isn't the same.... Also, you live pretty deep in BK. Man, do I miss Brooklyn.

ps: nice shots. Anything cool(new) at the panasonic booth?

Just the G5 and GH3. I was surprised to find the G5 I tried set to silent electronic shutter. Though the Panasonic rep told me that this makes it take only 2 MP pics  I don't believe that is true.
I really liked the new zoom rocker wheel next to shutter button for operating the motorized zoom lenses. Way more comfortable and stable than the side button on the zoom itself.

GH3 had the 12-35 lens on. The whole package felt really nice and solid. It's significantly bigger than the G5 but both felt right in my smaller hand.

I didn't see that one and I forgot to ask to be honest. They did have the 75mm/1.8 lens attached to the OMDs. That was an amazing combo!

Just more evidence that the company reps generally know less than we do.

In fairness, the rep is thinking of the super high speed option at 7fps or whatever it is. But yeah theres also the full size option for normal silent shutter shooting.
