New to MFT, and the EM-1 in particular.

How high does the numbering go in the OMD lines? With Nikon, it would roll over to 0001 after 9999 images.

I used the shutter count, plus a file name as part of my numbering sequence when importing through PhotoMechanic and I can't seem to find a way to do that with the EM1.

    Thank you.

I'm pretty sure you get 4 digits. The first 3 or 4 characters are yours to set. The EM-1 doesn't write a shutter count to the file, as far as I know.

    The name format is: CCCCNNNN.jpg(orf)
CCCC is 4 customizable characters. You HAVE to customize ALL them or camera will use month and date in those fields: e.g. 0331 for March 31 and next day it will be 0401. Or it will be TOM1 if you customized only first three characters as TOM.
NNNN is a sequence from 0001 to 9999, but you have to set "File Name" option to "Auto" or it will use separate sequences for each memory card.

To nit pick, the format is PmddNNNN where the "P" is always just "P" (if you do not customize those first four characters and have your color space set to sRGB. For AdobeRGB the "P" is simply dropped) and month is a single digit 0-9, A, B, C (A=Oct, etc.)

So December 31 would be PC31 and the next day would be P101.

And you can change the P without messing up the rest of the numbering... I used 'O' on my previous Oly and now use 'E' on my E-M1... my P&S Panasonic stays as 'P', not that it gets used anymore...

    I don't get the P101 after PC31...
    Wouldn't it be PD01 instead?

No. PC31 is December 31st (C=December). The next day is January 1st. So the month digit starts over at 1, hence P101.

The month digit increments and rolls over as follows:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C then restarts with the new year, 1,2,3,4,etc.
