Part two of three from my Norway adventure last June. This collection if from Ramstindan on the boundary of the Rondane Nasjonalpark to Kaldbekkbotn, an alpine valley in it's centre. As you can see the landscape had changed quite a bit by this stage and had become much more mountainous than my last set.

Please find the full story for this set on my blog: Norway, June 2012 pt.II – Rondane Nasjonalpark: Ramstindan – Kaldbekkbotn | people + other strange creatures

And here's part one: Norway, June 2012 pt.I – Rondanestien: Lillehammer – Ramstindan | people + other strange creatures

Wow, totally awe-inspiring! Respect to the gonads required to make that hike, let alone by yourself

I've read some of your interesting story, and endeavour to read more soon. Excellent pics too!

I didn't realize that there so much barren landscape in Norway. For some reason I thought it was mostly forested. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

    Thanks everyone

Norway is heavily forested, but most of these photos were taken over 1000m, which is getting pretty close to the treeline.

The pics alone give me a huge sentiment of loneliness, you must have felt really abandoned there. I read your blog about the trip, great write up, thank you also for that. And the landscape is staggering. Lonely but fantastic. I don't know if I could have done this, I mean, I do travel alone, but hiking through these deserted valleys and plains ?
Fantastic pictures in any case! Thank you again.

Thanks for your thoughts. The loneliness was quite confronting actually. I'm quite happy in my own company and I've done quite a bit of solo walking, but never for this long and never without a book (I'm a heavy reader). In this respect it was by far the hardest walk I've done and although I look back on it as a pretty amazing experience, it's not one I want to repeat any time soon.

Norway with some mates though, thats a different story

Ahhh! The realized value of a real book (not a rechargeable reader)... I was going to suggest taking an iPad! :)

My point was that you would have had no way to recharge them once the charge was spent... Come to think of it, how did you recharge your camera batteries?

Great pics. Is that an Allak, Staika or a Soulo tent?
