Today I received this email message from Voigtländer, Fürth, Germany (part of ringfoto.de), sorry ! :sorry:

thank you for your email and your suggestions in making lenses with
    MicroFourThird mount.

There are no plans as of yet and we can not forsee the future, what will
    happen next.
All new items will be presented on our website though, so please follow up
    with it.

We hope we have been able to help you.

    Kind regards

Some people and companies have lost their vision.
    Such a shame.

Herman - the MFT to M adapter, (so that you can use CV lenses), is quite small - you never really notice it.
Even it you have to put an M43 screw in it

and from a "cost-effective" standpoint - a CV lens with a Leica M mount is always going to be more valuable

    Cheers

We are not having another MFT "love" in are we?

I'll just have to contact the Nikon MPs...........and ask them to come round and "sort it"

We have to assume the marketing dept and the bean counters have looked at the format.
Maybe they know something we don't but I don't think so.
I hope Oly and Panny step the pace up.

    Don

I have just called OKAMOTO san, who I knew from my time in Tokyo, we taught him English, and he told me that Panasonic are too busy making Televisions, (and maybe the odd Washing machine)

OKAMOTO san is the CEO of Nikon

    Bill,
    Does Nikon make washers?
Nikon won't come to this format, either will Canon.
I really had hopes of dedicated glass from CV.

I'm gittin' oldt and lazy and like AF.
    I'd like a 17 1.4 but don't hod my breath.

I received the same message - but that doesn't mean its over. This is early days. Like any company they need to be convinced of a demand.

    Spread the word!

    CV dedicated M4/3 glass

I do not know what the technical differences are that would need to be made for dedicated M4/3 glass from CV..........but much of the M4/3 "story" comes from Lens/camera co-operation/and dedicated "computer" programmes..........which would need the co-operation of CV and Pany

I reckon, CV glass will always be MF and CV glass on an M4/3 is no sweat with an adapter, (it's small)...............so why would CV produce another mount, (other than M or screw)

Nikon washing machines for a sharper wash with less grain - there's a thought.

Maybe they will invent a self washing camera??????

Ok, back to the post, I like many others expect CV to continue to produce high quality optics that can be used on M Leicas and on many others including Micro 4/3rds with an adaptor - I would not expect them to start producing glass specifically for Micro 4/3rds until the user base has grown considerably.

    Time will tell.

Do Ringfoto and Cosina have an agreement to forward questions to each other? Both are legitimate users of the Voigtländer brand name, but otherwise their relationship isn't clear.
