This is the interior of St Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire West Wales. This was a very dark area with very little light. However using the Olympus E-P2 with image stabilisation turned on, plus the Panasonic Lumix 20mm f1.7 I was able to take this picture hand-held with readings of:- 1/30th sec, f1.7, 400 ISO. The image is sharp and the colours are great.

One of the great things about the 20mm is the possibility to know that you can use it wide open with no quality issues. I have faster (or as fast) lenses but nothing so wide and all of them are not particularly great when used at their maximum aperture. Not so the 20mm lumix. It really is a delightful little lens and incredibly useful.

Its not easy these days to photograph building interiors in the UK with big DSLR's and tripods. You are very lucky if you can get your shots without being questioned about your intentions. Using the Olympus nobody took the slightest notice of me and I was able to take my pictures without any problems.

The quality is excellent. The base ISO of the E-P2 is 200 so 400 ISO generates very little noise. I can hand hold the 20mm on a Panasonic GH1 at 1/30th second with no problem, because of the lack of a mirror and the consequent lack of vibration when it moves, but the IS on the Olympus is an extra safeguard. A very impressive result.

Goodmorning ! Very excellent shots. I have taken many shots with a G1 in a church. The OIS does a great job. Will post a few pics later.

Shot this photo this morning, handheld, sitting on my couch with low light. My laptop backgrounds are photos that I've taken with my GF1.

So that makes this a low light photo of another photo that was captured in low light ...

Kinda like mirrors on mirrors
