    Nissin Di466 4/3rds Black Flashlite: Amazon.co.uk: Camera & Photo

External flash at a very good price for those who are looking for 1.

Nissin Digital Flash: Di466 for Four Thirds Introduction

The main drawbacks to me seem to be that it has tilt but no swivel. It seems to be an excellent-value unit for on-camera TTL flash, especially for "shoot now, ask questions later" situations where the ambient light is changing beyond your control and you have to shoot quick.

I bought a used one of these last year, great for the price.
Just buy a TTL cord and you can shoot any angle - I've seen someone here screw a bracket to the tripod that mounts the flash next to the camera, then fixed position off-cam tilt/swivel is possible.

Edit - damn, shows as £76 for me today...

For me it still shows 56 quid. Maybe it is a pop-up and pop-down flash? See on idealo it's price history. It's actually 76 quid on amazon marketplace.

Regarding TTL, off the camera, I guess the cord being required means it does not Slave with TTL using signals from the little Olympus flash on the camera? Which is how I understood the big Olympus flash works.

I'll have to check on TTL using the diddy olympus flash - I think it does but I haven't used it that much.

Correct on the price too - it's showing me the marketplace price rather than amazon's own price. Still £56 if I select from amazon - great price!

For £56 definitely worth getting, I use Yn560's and SB-700's but when just out with the family this small flash is well worth keeping in the bag, although I guess the OMd clip on could be used for fill in a pinch

I hadnt realise it is a small flash. Some of the tothers, like the Metz are bigger than my whole system. Body and 2 lenses put together.

Does this flash have any (dis) advantage over the FL-300r (being the lower price an obvious advantage) ?

    Thank You

I have both, the fl300r is a *lot* smaller! It also seems to trigger more reliably in RC mode with the tiny fl-lm2 (think that's it's number).
Oh, and the fl300r will ttl off camera in RC mode.

But it's much less powerful and cycles slowly.

It's horses for courses as they say, travelling light, take the 300r. Need more power, take the di466.
To be honest the 300r is so small I'll just take it as well as the di466 - it seems to trigger the di466 better than the lm2 and isn't much bulkier.

    Thanks for that.

I have the FL-300r on my shopping list (waiting to get a good deal) it will be my first flash and I don't have any real demand for a lot of power so i'll stick to the 300 as initially planned.
