Doves always look a bit unreal. Hand held.
Typical vintage Nikkor - superb build quality, ultra smooth focus, substantial heft. Nikkor_H_300mm_f4_5_160.JPG

Though the feeder makes images much easier to capture, these guys are in constant motion. Olympus E PL1 - hand held in Van Nuys Nikkor_H_300mm_f4_5_170.JPG

Nikkor 300/4.5 Ai - I just bought this lens a couple of days ago. I am pretty pleased with the results on a u4/3 camera. I am going to have to give it a shot on my Nikon F2 or FE2.

This is the first photo I took with the 300 mounted on my GX7.

I took these three this afternoon.

This lens has been on my want list for a looong time, even before I started m4/3. Now I want one even more! Ugh! Why do you guys do this to me?

    BTW, wonderful shots biomed!

Thanks. There are plenty very good examples of this lens out there. I looked at several and bought the best I could find. Look for Ai, Ais or later models. Some have a removable tripod collar - Make sure it is included with the lens. My Ai version did not have a removable collar. You will need a sturdy tripod when shooting with the lens. I recommend you use "shutter delay".. I have only used the Nikkor with my GX7 to take advantage of focus peaking and the electronic shutter.
