This is why I always try to have a camera in my jacket pocket - Broadway in the evening, ( Newmarket, New Zealand - not New York!). Canon G7X MkII.

Very impressionistic and atmospheric! And doing the vertical composition to include the moon spot on.

Thank you. I did vertical to to fit the moon and it's reflection. I really lucked out on the timing. When I arrived there the sky was clear. The low fog rolled in and only lasted for a half hour or so.

Been getting hard but useful lessons lately as I move more and more to manually controlling the camera. It started with setting the camera to 200 ISO instead of auto ISO for better image quality in low light. This trickled down to enforced tripod use at night, long exposures, and also playing with aperture and shutter settings. It certainly would be easier to learn in the light of day, particilarly with focusung in low light, but I tend to be a glutton for punishment.... and I love night shots. Trying to get a clear shot in a scene where nearly everything moves over the course of a long exposure is.... Interesting.

I'm a learning boy...

Thank you. I need to check my site settings. I can't click on any of my images here, but can from other sites.

A composite image taken a few days apart - one to expose the foreground and a night sky image to capture star trails.
