I haven't been out late with the EM5 too often, as I used to have an A7 to make pcis with. I promise more EM5 night shots in the future. Until then, I'll leave ya with some A7 and A7s night shots, many of which are nearly unedited to give you an idea of the grain from a full frame at high ISO:

Not a particularly inspiring image this next one. It's a bit flat, sharpened only a bit. But it is this way because this was taken at ISO 64,000 as an exercise. The A7S not only captured the image(and some colour), but also focused on it in the first place. This image was far brighter in my view finder than in person. With the A7s screen on, you can literally use it to see in the dark.

This is without noise reduction added to give you an idea how the A7s looks. It prolly is a bit under exposed(SOn'ys freaking LOVE to under expose, especially when you least need it):

But when exposed right, the A7s can do alright:

That's 12MP. So if folks are telling you that 16MP is not enough for a carry around camera, tell them to F-off.

But even though the 'day' looking shots are really 'night' shots taken at dusk, I just realised they really aren't night shots since they aren't really dark in appearance.
But I think people got my point with the A7s.

Still, I'll leave you with a real night shot. This is hand held. 1/200s f/4.5 at 47.0mm iso 102,400 A7s No noise filter.

From a boating trip this weekend. If you look carefully, the comet Neowise can be seen just above the mid island slightly to the right (crosspoast with Show Boats).
