Niemeyer's Copan Building

    This is the skyline of downtown Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the left we see the famous Copan Building designed by the famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.

    I understand he recently passed away, but designed a lot of really cool stuff and wrote some good sambas too. Thanks for the cool photo!

    Yes. He designed most of the buildings of Brazil's capital Brasilia in the 1950s and was doing new projects until about two years ago when he was 102 years old. He had buildings in many places in Europe but as a declared communist he could not go to the US. Despite that he was part of the group that designed the United Nations building in NYC and was the architect of the Brazilian embassy in DC. Not everyone (including me) likes all his works, but some are very impressive buildings.
