Thanks. It is a rare chance to get this close to one. Tomorrow this same fawn would take off like a rocket and I'd never get a chance like this. He (she?) was probably just a few hours old and hadn't figured out running yet. Lucky for me. I didn't want to stress the mother out too much who was watching from about 50 yards away so I shot quick and got out of there. I saw her heading for the fawn in my rear view mirror.

Nice Lens.. I have thought about buying one of those Bad Boys.. spendy but nice.. It confirms you get what you pay for in most instances..

Hi Doug, This lens is great for walking around shooting. I just bought a legacy Nikon 400 for birds. But it will have to be on a gimbal head and I'll never 'walk around' with it. It would bring on a heart attack.

Looking at these shots I wish I had had time to think more. To do things like minimize my focus area, breathe and steady my shot more, focus and recompose .... etc. But the whole experience is like hooking a big fish. Adrenaline blowup.

But it was fun, no one was harmed and the shots are worth looking at if not everything they could be. :2thumbs:

    More Processed

I opened this (same as first pic on thread) from Bridge in Camera RAW even though its a jpeg. Did a little more sharpening and just a tad of fill light with a little more pop. Look any different?
