    Hey guys,

I know there are a few members here in my area, and I wanted to give you all the heads up that I have now opened a new studio in downtown Edmonton, right at the heart of Chinatown on 97 Street. The first week of October is going to be my Grand Opening week, and I will be having portrait specials (40% off) and refreshments. Come down and check it out if you're in the area... I would love to network and meet up with all the other :43: users in this area and talk shop.

I think many of you guys knew that I had some serious issues with crazy crooked landlords in the past, so this means that I am finally breaking free of that carp and this is a huge load off my back! I am finally back in business the way I want to be, and able to continue on my work hassle-free. This new location is very convenient, and I have a healthy 520 Sq. Ft. to work with, including reception area, office, and studio. This coming year is going to be very exciting for Cyclops Photo Studio!

Never have a carp as a landlord, you'll end up looking like a sucker, just floundering around looking for somewhere else to perch.

I hope you got a whale of a deal on your new digs.

(Congratulations on the new location - I'm afraid Detroit is a bit to far for me to pop over to visit right now, but I wish you much success and even more fun).

But Ned! Whaddaya gonna do about the darkroom?

If that's your new studio setup (in the Simple Lighting Setup for Portraits thread) it looks good.

Hope you'll have a great time in the new digs. :2thumbs:

Now that I am a landlord (nice ring to it) I can say with certainty that your characterization is redundant.

    Thanks guys!

@tdekany Happy birthday! :D  We're probably going to have a post-opening party on the 6th... after hours, so we can have adult beverages and crank up the music. ;)

@RobWatsonL lol, I see what you mean!

@BarefootPilgrim Yush, that would be the setup!

@Fmrvette lol. How did you know I have a secret love of fish puns? One of the local bands here made an entire song full of them. I think it was the Fish Stew song or something, I forget. xD I think the band was Hookaman, but don't quote me on that... it was a long time ago, when I was young and handsome.

No wonder you seem to have been a little scarce around these parts lately. Congrats and good luck on the new venture.

Unfortunately, I've got to RSVP with my regrets that I cannot make it to your opening. Although it's a beautiful drive from Seattle to Edmonton, but my current schedule prevents me from making the journey at this time.
  16. Congratulations Ned, wishing your studio a great future! Edmonton is a bit too far to join your party I'm afraid. ;-)

I was just in Edmonton for business on Thursday and Friday. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on 104th, and had dinner at the Brazilian Steakhouse.
