Except I wouldn't buy a Nikon D600 with the known shutter problem of spraying junk onto the sensor. Nikon basically had to re-design the shutter mechanism because of this - which is what a D610 is - a D600 with a fixed shutter. Chances are pretty good that if you buy a D600, it's going to need it's shutter overhauled pretty early in it's life (you'll know it when your sensor gets dirty really early). As a result of Nikon's not taking back the D600s in inventory before launching the D610, you're going to see A LOT of fire sales on the D600 until all the product in the channel clears out.

Meh, IMO just set it on intervalometer for 10K actuations when you get it, then send it to Nikon if there's oil. A hassle yes, but assuming they are doing the repairs correctly now it should be fine.

Exactly, and that's only if there is an oil problem with the particular camera. There may well be, but it's far from the case that every D600 has this problem.

That is a great deal, and hey, if it spots, Nikon has routinely been replacing the shutter mechanism under warranty ...

Ten dollar rocket blower solves most D600 problems.

Some pathological cases involve oils that won't blow away. But the dust is easy to clean with a rocket blower.

Actually, $1499. And if I were getting a Nikon D600, I would prefer a factory refurb to a new one, since I would be pretty confident that the refurb had had the shutter replaced.

    That's okay.
I've got a few auto-focus "D" lenses that I use on my Nikon film bodies....

LOL, I got in on the $1600 deal and I think the 24-85mm is very good for the $$. Well it's very good in the center and not so great on the near to corner edges. I keep wondering if a Sony NEX lens engineering team developed it.

It's very easy to wet clean these sensors yourself. Was a minor issue to me when I had a D600.

The 50mm f1.8g can be had for under $200 as a refurb--it is a really nice combo :) I'm tempted to keep mine. :p
