Welcome and hello from Scotland! That's a lovely camera and lens combination you're getting there. I just got a GF1 last week and like it very much. Have fun!

All the best,

Welcome.
It would help if you could give us an idea of what your intent is.
Example...
What subject matter interest you?
What you use for processing?
How you want the camera to handle?
Raw or jpeg.....etc...

It doesn't come with an SD card. Class 4 or higher is needed for video.

Otherwise, the only tip is make sure the battery is charged up, 'cuz you're going to want to take a lot of pictures!

Leeland,
You may want to try the free Light Room Trial.
If you plan on anything above semi-serious, you will need a good organizer and processor.
If you hang out here for any length of time, you will get active and serious.
This group is a very active group to say the least.
I hear tell not 1 member can go more than 48hrs without making some kind photo.

There's plenty of threads on gear, software etc. Check it out and don't hold back your questions.
